Sunday Book Recommendations #12 [Apr 24, 2016]

Hello guys! And welcome back to another SUNDAY BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS!!

Sunday Book Recommendations

Sunday Book Recommendations is the weekly meme hosted by Raven @ Dreamy Addictions. This meme focus on recommending you guys some interesting books in which I think are wonderful. It includes recommending a book from three different genres.

Arrow2 - CopyNumbers (2)-Supernatural-
Witches Protection Program by Michael Phillip Cash

25586821SYNOPSIS: Wes Rockville, a disgraced law enforcement agent, is given one last chance to prove himself and save his career when he’s reassigned to a 232 year old secret government organization. The Witches Protection Program. His first assignment: uncover a billion-dollar Cosmetics company’s diabolical plan of using witchcraft for global domination, while protecting its heiress Morgan Pendragon from her aunt’s evil deeds. Reluctantly paired with veteran witch protector, Alastair Verne, Wes must learn to believe in both witches and himself. Filled with adventure, suspense and a rousing good time, Michael Phillip Cash creates a tongue-in-cheek alternate reality where witches cast spells and wreak havoc in modern day New York City.

  • This book is an extremely fun and excited read for me! The idea of witches in modern time is not new, but a police branch? I was hooked! The book is a true roller coaster, with a lot of twists and turns, and Wes’s adventure is just simply amazing. ❤

Arrow2 - CopyNumbers (3)-New Adults-
Bully by Penelope Douglas

20803953SYNOPSIS: My name is Tate. He doesn’t call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he’ll barely even speak to me.

But he still won’t leave me alone.

We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I’ve been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.

But I’m done hiding from him now, and there’s no way in hell I’ll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It’s time to fight back.

I’m not going to let him bully me anymore.

  • Inge asked me to do a NA rec this week, and I just can’t stop myself from choosing this book. I was ADDICTED to this book!! I’ve reread it multiple times, and each just made me love the book more. Even better news! This book has everything a NA lover craves: childhood friends romance, neighbor romance, hate to love, and even best friends to lovers! How can that possible? Read it, you’ll know… 😉

Arrow2 - CopyNumbers (4)-Dystopian-
Reckoning by Kerry Wilkinson

18490660SYNOPSIS: In the village of Martindale, hundreds of miles north of the new English capital of Windsor, sixteen-year-old Silver Blackthorn takes the Reckoning. This coming-of-age test not only decides her place in society – Elite, Member, Inter or Trog – but also determines that Silver is to become an Offering for King Victor.

But these are uncertain times and no-one really knows what happens to the teenagers who disappear into Windsor Castle. Is being an Offering the privilege everyone assumes it to be, or do the walls of the castle have something to hide?

Trapped in a maze of ancient corridors, Silver finds herself in a warped world of suspicion where it is difficult to know who to trust and who to fear. The one thing Silver does know is that she must find a way out . . .

  • If Divergent and The Hunger Games have a kid, that would be Reckoning. The story is gripping, the world-building is well-planned, and despise having its own flaws, this book was a very enjoyable read. Also, isn’t Silver a cool name?
