Sunday Book Recommendations #10 [Apr 10, 2016]

So…I’m busy being lazy these days.

Hello guys! And welcome back to another SUNDAY BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS!!

Sunday Book Recommendations

Sunday Book Recommendations is the weekly meme hosted by Raven @ Dreamy Addictions. This meme focus on recommending you guys some interesting books in which I think are wonderful. It includes recommending a book from three different genres.

Arrow2 - CopyNumbers (2){DYSTOPIA} The Rain (a.k.a. H2O) by Virginia Bergin

Synopsis: It’s in the rain…and just one drop will kill you.

They don’t believe it at first. Crowded in Zach’s kitchen, Ruby and the rest of the partygoers laugh at Zach’s parents’ frenzied push to get them all inside as it starts to drizzle. But then the radio comes on with the warning, “It’s in the rain! It’s fatal, it’s contagious, and there’s no cure.”

Two weeks later, Ruby is alone. Anyone who’s been touched by rain or washed their hands with tap water is dead. The only drinkable water is quickly running out. Ruby’s only chance for survival is a treacherous hike across the country to find her father-if he’s even still alive.

  • So on the last SBR, Arvenig asked me to recommend a Dystopia book. Of course, I jump at the chance and choose The Rain (known as H2O in US). Although it leans more toward apocalyptic, but it’s still a dystopia-ish book, and a very, very interesting one, I assure you. So why not pick it up?

Arrow2 - CopyNumbers (3){PARANORMAL}  Fracture by Megan Miranda

Synopsis: By the time Delaney Maxwell was pulled from a Maine lake’s icy waters by her best friend, her heart had stopped beating.

But somehow Delaney survived – despite the brain scans that show irreparable damage. Everyone wants Delaney to be fine, but she knows she’s far from normal. Pulled by strange sensations she can’t control or explain, Delaney now finds herself drawn to the dying, and when she meets Troy Varga, a boy who recently emerged from a coma with the same abilities, she is relieved to share this strange new existence. Unsure if her altered brain is predicting death or causing it, Delaney must figure out if their gift is a miracle, a freak of nature – or something else much more frightening…

  • Fracture is a story of second chances, life and death, love and friendship. Oh yeah, there are some paranormal elements too. 😀 Nonetheless, this was a very interesting read for me, and oh man did I went and I asked everyone what would they do if they only have one day left to live for like a whole week.

Arrow2 - CopyNumbers (4){ROMANCE} Forever Pucked by Helena Hunting

Synopsis: Being engaged to Alex Waters, team captain and the highest paid NHL player in the league, is awesome. How could it not be?

In addition to being an amazing hockey player, he’s an incurable romantic with an XL heart, and an XXL hockey stick in his pants. And he knows how to use it. Incredibly, orgasmically well. Alex is the whole package and more. Literally. Like his package is insane. Total world record holder material.

So it makes complete sense that Violet Hall can’t wait to nail him down to the matrimonial mattress and become Mrs. Violet Waters.

It’s so romantic.

Violet is totally stoked to set a date.

Eventually. At some point. Likely before the next millennium. Or when Violet stops getting hives every time someone brings up the wedding, and their mothers stop colluding on stadium sized venues. Whichever comes firs

  • You all should judge me….because I love this book. So I’ve heard Pucked series’s reputation for months. However, since most of my friends’ ratings aren’t that good, I reluctant to give this a try. I changed my mind a few days ago, and ugh, I still can’t believe I genuinely like this haha. It is so weird and quirky, especially when it comes to Alex and Violet, I found myself in constant state of toothy grin throughout the whole book (series). It makes me happy, so I don’t really have any reason to dislike it…

Arrow2 - Copy

Let’s Chat: Since one of our rec today involves this… What would you do if you only have one more day to live?

Hope you like this Sunday Book Recommendations! As usual, comment down below what genre you would like me to recommend next week, and also share your recommendations too. 😀

- love xxoo,
